CREATIVE ARTS

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Degas

Our students are incredibly expressive and are provided with many opportunities to demonstrate their creativity and allow others to see the world as they do.

We have teaching staff who love music and are talented musicians in their own right. They seek to enhance their daily learning with music.

Our students are taught to think as artists and not look for external approval for their artworks beyond meeting the design brief and their own sense of achievement.

Our students take part in the Annual Celebration Service which highlights their dance skills, dramatic flair, and musical talents. It is fabulous to witness their growth and development as they take larger roles in the dramatic presentations as they progress through their grades.

The skills of audience critique are employed to analyse a student’s own performance and further enhance their talents. We visit other schools to observe their performances. An interview is conducted of the characters or cast and our students respond with great enthusiasm to these interviews.

Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way. Edward de Bono
